NADH, a coenzyme that improves brain function, will be studied for the first time in the United States for its possible effects for individuals suffering from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome ( CFS), a chronic psychiatric disorder that impacts around 601o of the U.S. population annually.
The Food and Drug Administration recently licensed NADH for clinical trials, which started under the guidance of Harry Preuss, M.D., Division of Nephrology at the Georgetown University Medical Center in June 1996, and Joseph A. Bellanti, M.D., Director of Georgetown ‘s International Immunology Centre.
It would help with post-exertional malaise
A few studies have investigated NADH supplementation plus coenzyme Q10 in individuals with ME / CFS. One released in 2015 indicated a major decrease in tiredness compared with placebo. The second, released in 2016, revealed a reduced mean heart rate during exercise. That could mean that post-exertional malaise, which is a defining symptom of the illness, would help.
A 2011 review of available literature named NADH and magnesium as the only two supplements that were shown in studies to improve ME / CFS. Earlier studies indicated anxiety improvement and high heart rate following a stress check.

The primary symptom of fibromyalgia, according to Dr Bellanti, is a general, unexplainable lack of energy and widespread pain. Individuals with fibromyalgia experience barely functioning, feeling burnt out, drained and sleepy all the time. They can suffer intense weariness, feel drawn out, discouraged. Such fatigue can in most cases not be relieved with adequate rest, Dr. Bellanti adds.
It is important to remember, though, that because chronic exhaustion may be the harbinger of a definable medical or psychological disorder, anybody suffering persistent fatigue for more than a month should see his / her doctor. If there are no medical or psychological problems then fatigue can be accounted for and it has lasted for more than six months and has impaired normal daily activities, then chronic fatigue syndrome can be considered the culprit.
